License to Create: Avalon Park Residents Put Their Personal Stamp on a Fun Craft

Avalon Park residents got creative designing personalized license plates filled with color, personality, and plenty of fun.

Creativity was in the driver’s seat at Avalon Park Senior Living during a recent resident craft activity!

Residents were given blank license plates and plenty of colorful decorations, then turned them into something completely their own. Flowers, butterflies, birds, sunflowers, glitter and cheerful embellishments filled the tables as each resident created a plate inspired by a name, nickname, favorite saying or a little bit of personality.

The finished creations said it all. From “My Buggy” and “Happy Days” to “Cruisin” and “Sassy,” no two license plates were alike. And judging by the smiles, creating them was just as much fun as showing them off afterward.

Creativity Is Better When It’s Shared

Arts and crafts are one of the many ways residents can get involved at Avalon Park. The community’s lifestyle includes a variety of social gatherings, hobbies, classes and other activities that give residents opportunities to pursue their interests and spend time together.

A craft afternoon may seem like a simple activity, but that’s part of what makes it so enjoyable. Residents can sit around the table, compare ideas, laugh together and see where their creativity takes them. There is no need for every project to look the same. In fact, this license plate activity was all about making something personal.

Those individual touches turned a blank plate into a fun reflection of the person holding it.

There’s Always Something Happening at Avalon Park

Life at Avalon Park is designed to offer plenty of choices. Residents can participate in arts and crafts, games, fitness activities, movies, clubs, educational programs, outings and social events—or simply choose the activities that appeal to them most.

This time, it was license plates, flowers, butterflies and a lot of imagination.
